Over my career I have developed an intense creative engagement with processes, history and imagery associated with timber materials. I am continually revisiting and re-inventing processes that relate to the way in which timber is historically processed. My artwork is sympathetic to the history of labour and craftsmanship yet it seeks to question these values given our current contemporary society of impermanence. My artwork allows for a unique amalgamation of past and present aesthetics that reveals a new visual language where traditional cultural references become blurred.
